Simple, Easy Pricing
How much does it cost to make a video?
We know how confusing and frustrating it can be to try and figure out how much it will cost to make a video. So we decided to show how our video pricing works. The information below shows the basics of how we calculate it. Not included are any requirements that may be unique to your video project.

Video production pricing uses a combination of day rates for filming and hourly rates for pre and post-production. More effective time spent in pre-production will result in a more successful video and less time spent in production and post.
How our pricing works
Estimating the days needed to film a video or the number of hours of post-production required is difficult for most clients. Because of that, we’ve decided to break down the process and give you some idea of what goes into it.
Every video project is unique, but we’ve provided guidance below to explain the factors that go into determining price.

PRE-PROduction

Pre-Production
Estimating pre-production hours
Pre-production is the most important factor in determining the success of your video. Effective pre-production improves efficiency. The more time spent in planning, the less time needed for filming, editing, and revisions. Most videos need at least 5 hours of pre-production time.
For more complex video projects, such as for brand story videos, pre-production time may require 10-20 hours to ensure proper planning and execution.
Factors affecting pre-production time:
- research and story-finding
- script writing
- pre-interviews
- scouting filming locations
- overall complexity of the video

PRODUCTION
How to estimate filming days
The number of filming days required will depend on the type and complexity of the video project. Effective planning in pre-production will improve efficiency and minimize the number of days needed.
The factors that go into determining the number of filming days needed include:
- how many interviews will be done
- how much footage is needed
- location setup time
- length of the final video
- number of filming locations
Post-Production
Estimating post-production hours
Our team edits the footage, adds effects, and polishes your video to make it look and sound great.
Video editing takes the lions share of time required for post-production. A good rule of thumb is that for every hour of filming, roughly 4 hours of editing will be required. Most of our videos need at least 10 hours to complete.
For more complex videos such as brand story videos, the post-production time may take 20-40 hours or more.
Factors affecting post-production time:
- quantity of footage
- length of the final video
- shot logging and transcribing interviews
- complexity of graphics and effects
